Last Thursday Elder Scicluna left to serve a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, in the New Zealand Wellington mission. It was exciting not only for us as a family, to see Paul prepare himself for his mission but more so for Paul. It was so exciting to see Paul not only grow spiritually but also seeing him become an Elder! Time flew by as Paul prepared himself and it only hit us when we saw Paul's close friend Elder (Cade) Triffit off at the airport. It made us realise that in 3 days we will be doing the same again but this time to one even closer to us! Thursday eventually came around and we were all up again at 5am to be on time for the airport. I don't think it hit us that Paul was leaving, for we were all running on adrenaline.

At the airport we were joined by Brett Christie, Tom and Ty Triffit wanting to farewell Paul. The time departed speedily and all of a sudden we were fare welling Elder Scicluna.
Its sad but at the same time joyous to farewell a family member for their mission! But we all know that this will be one the most rewarding experiences Paul will be able to experience and will learn to rely and trust in the Lord as we will be doing the same.
